The Swiss halberd effectively combined the best qualities of the spear, battle axe and grappling hook into one devastating instrument of war. It could pierce the strongest steel armour and crush a hard hat or shield. The halberd's "beak" could even be used to knock a heavily armoured knight off his horse.
The Swiss Cold Steel halberd is almost identical to its heavy historical counterpart, but was made of modern materials.
Equipped with a fully sharpened spike, axe blade and beak (hook), it is a versatile tool that will surely appeal to historical re-enactors and collectors.
