Hanwei's Practical Plus Katana is a very economical cutlass, using more traditional forging and construction methods.
The blade is forged and differentially hardened using the traditional claying method with a distinctive hamon.
The Katana Practical Plus has Tsuka genuine velvet (Rayskin) on the blade with a wraparound (Tsuka-Ito) specially developed for its gripping properties. The long tip is double-pointed for added safety.
The forging of the Practical Plus katana is decorated with a Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki and the handsome Tsuba has an iron "sunburst" design with brass habaki.
