Product detailed description
The Bamboo Mat katana features a chu-kissaki blade made of HWS-2S high-alloy steel, combining impressive performance with a distinctive O-choji hamon. This steel is produced in Hanwei's new factory using high-tech equipment, resulting in a very pure blade with advanced metallurgy, excellent edge holding ability and durability. The forging of the katana consists of a black iron tsuba with a bamboo motif, textured in a bamboo mat design with bonded bamboo edging and accented with golden bamboo leaves. The fuchi/kashira have the same motif and a pair of sparrows are depicted on the gold menuki. The saya is finished in a glossy lacquer with horn fittings.
