The Shinto katana by Paul Chen / Hanwei has a hand forged T10 high carbon steel blade with a lightweight Bo-Hi groove. The blade of this katana is differentially hardened using the traditional claying method. The Shinto katana is mounted in black and the tsuka-ito is made of premium black Japanese cotton. The saya is finished in a dark black lacquer with black cotton sageo. The black iron tsuba features a finely rendered dragon with faithful details on the front and back, which is decorated in gold. The fittings are exquisitely antiqued, adding to the aesthetic appeal of this piece. The Hanwei Shinto katana comes with a protective cloth bag and traditional maintenance kit.
