Product detailed description
Charlemagne was King of the Franks, King of the Langobards and from 800 the first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. During his reign he achieved the unification of most of Western and Central Europe.
All his subjects had to become Christians, unfortunately he often enforced this idea with brutal violence.
Nevertheless, he went down in history as the father of Europe, and to this day he is the only ruler to have ruled the united territories of both present-day France and Germany.
The original of his sword is housed in the Louvre in Paris and has been used since the twelfth century during the coronation of French kings, thus invoking the tradition of Charlemagne.
It is not a functional sword, it is for decorative purposes only.
