Product detailed description
A classic from Extrema Ratio. Kukri, made famous by the Gurkha regiments serving under the British crown. Ultimately, it is a machete that can function as an axe while retaining the versatility of a long blade. Extrema Ratio has developed two such tools, the KS and KH models, which combine ancient and modern design concepts. Both use a combined grind. A hollow cut closer to the handle, which resembles a razor, provides a fine and sharp edge without compromising the overall thickness of the blade's spine (which needs great strength). The pointed part of the blade, on the other hand, is ground flat, well angled to effortlessly penetrate wood and vegetation. While similar tools are usually made from softer steel alloys for flexibility and ease of sharpening, here sufficient flexibility has been achieved by using hard BÖHLER N690 steel, making the blade remarkably durable.
