Marble's has been around since the late 19th century and has produced many iconic knives/shears over the years. When approached by TOPS to create a modern "TOPS-ified" version of the Woodcraft knife, TOPS was happy to oblige. After all, it's not every day that you are approached to redesign a 100+ year old classic knife design.
Marble versions of the Woodcraft usually featured stackable leather handles and metal bolsters. Neither of these features are usually found in TOPS designs. So Leo mimicked this look by using two different colors of Micarta and inserting one piece into the other. The TOPS version also includes a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish that complements the handle perfectly. The sheath was designed to match the old-school "cowboy" sheaths, which had leather covering most of the handle to protect the knife from scratching or catching when passing through dense undergrowth. The size and design is as close to the Marble version as possible, but brings new life to this knife. It is still a classic design that is great for hunting, camping and of course woodcraft.

In late 1998, the TOPS Knives brand was founded with the goal of creating some of the highest quality knives on the market. All TOPS knives are handcrafted in a sweatshop in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, USA.
