The Tops Tahoma Field Knife is designed to provide everything an outdoor professional needs.
The notch on the blade's spine is used for grooving materials to create a weak spot to break, as well as breaking wires by working to stiffen them and pulling pots and similar items out of the fire.
The thumb ramp has a hole for the front wrist lanyard popular in cutting contests, and also helps in tying the knife to the end of the stick to make a spear.
The finger wedge allows you to bring your hand closer to the blade for fine carving work. The wedge also forms a secondary "tip" for carving or notching, etc.
The overall shape of the handle is designed for ergonomics and to allow the user to grip the knife more like a machete. There is a crowbar on the head of the knife, shaped and positioned so that the "back" grip of the knife will not cut or wear the hand when chopping.
Each element is integrated into the knife to work together while being instinctive to the user, so that the knife acts as an extension of the body.
