The Tops Frog Market Special was made from the popular 1095 high carbon steel and features a Micarta canvas blade, Tungsten Cerakote blade finish that is quickly becoming one of the most popular finishes in the TOPS lineup.
The wide foot allows for deep, shear cuts. The steep arc to the blade cuts well. When using the knife, you will notice that it has an ergonomic handle that is very comfortable.
The thinner steel allows for clean, smooth cuts and gives the blade some flexibility compared to thicker knives. The tip is also ideal for boning meat, both chicken and pork.
Although the Frog Market Special is great in the kitchen, you'll find countless uses for it when camping, fishing and hunting.
Steven Dick, who works as an editor at Tactical Knives, perfected this design based on what he saw on a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam. He saw butchers and fishmongers using knives with a design he had never seen before. Using their unique blades, they were able to easily prepare meat and fish of many kinds.
But rest assured that although the inspiration for the Frog Market Special came from the markets of Vietnam, the knives are still made and finished by hand right here in the Rocky Mountains of the USA.
