Ana has been with TOPS since approximately 2012. During her time with the company she has held many roles, from wrapping cords into handles to purchasing everything (parts, pieces, tools, even paper towels) for the company. So she knows all the TOPS knives that are currently available and has ordered the materials to make them.
One evening in 2019, when Ana was traveling to a trade show, she cracked open a beer, sat down at the table, and started drawing a knife. Strange, because she doesn't normally do that. She didn't have a specific type of knife in mind or something she wanted to replicate, she had an idea when she wanted the perfect lightweight hunting knife, and from that idea and desire, the Field Dog was eventually born.
The flowing lines and curves of this knife make it stand out when handling fish, birds and small game, especially those who like a more pointed tip on their hunting knives will appreciate this precision cutter.
The handle design/material changed during the prototyping process. In the end, the brown-black G10 handles with orange G10 inserts give this knife a striking look and stand out when you put it on the ground, for example.
The blade is 154CM stainless steel, low maintenance and with great edge holding ability.
The black leather sheath works modularly so it can be worn left and right handed and in both horizontal and vertical positions.
