Product detailed description
In 1975, the Norwegian company Helle introduced a knife to the Scandinavian market that differed significantly from the standards of the time. The blade measured approximately half the length of conventional knives - only around 70 mm - creating a tool with a compact geometry optimised for fine work. This model, named Fjording, soon became the predecessor of the more famous Nyingo and laid the foundations for a new era in outdoor knife design.
To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of this innovation, a limited edition Fjording 50 År has been created that retains the iconic short, wide blade typical of precision cutting and carving wood. In contrast to the original model, which used thinner carbon steel, the new version relies on layered H3LC stainless steel with a higher thickness - approximately 3 mm - to achieve greater strength and corrosion resistance.
The handle retains its ergonomic shaping, fits naturally in the hand and allows precise control for detailed work. The modernisation is reflected in the use of a combination of traditional wood with modern composite materials, which gives the knife not only an elegant appearance but also better resistance to moisture and temperature changes. The result is a tool that combines the heritage of Scandinavian craftsmanship with the technical advances of today - compact, durable and aesthetically distinctive.

No machine can replace skilled craftsmanship.
Helle knives are made to withstand the pressures and stresses that knives are subjected to during use. Helle maintains its tradition of handcrafted craftsmanship, not subject to automated production and an unnecessarily wide range of models. They believe that the highest quality is achieved through honest hand craftsmanship.
Experienced professionals are proud of the Helle production system. As each piece leaves production, it is checked for up to half an hour, for the sake of certainty that all quality and workmanship requirements of the knife are met.
A Helle knife goes through up to 45 stages of manual operations before finally being inspected and packaged.
