SILENTE is derived from "SICUT NOX SILENTES", which is the motto of the well-known special anti-terrorist unit of the National Police N.O.C.S. (Nucleo Operativo Centrale di Sicurezza). The SILENTE was presented to the unit, the authorities, the Minister of the Interior and the Commander of the State Police during a ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the N.O.C.S. It is unique of its kind and fulfils a unique need: the handle is made of two parts and also functions as a pair of pliers located at the end of the handle itself. In addition to gripping anything of the appropriate size, it can also be used to cut wire fences, wire ropes, steel cables, etc. Thanks to the tungsten carbide insert placed at the end, it can be used as a glass breaker. Also included is a kydex sheath with nylon accessories.
