Extrema Ratio Satre S600 Black as a lightweight and extremely durable knife with a fixed blade, due to its features it can be used in a wide variety of activities and areas including survival and bushcraft, or it can be part of an EDC (Every Day Carry) kit.
It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, a master advanced military instructor.
Thanks to the paracord lanyard, it can be worn as a knife around the neck. Thus it can be held vertically with the handle pointing downwards. The pre-shaped kydex sheath has eyelets that allow the use of both the lanyard and the accessory holder.
All three versions of the Satre knife come with a black sheath.
The full-tang skeleton design allows the knife to be customized by using paracord as a handle cover.
The Satre is available in three versions with two different types of steel: Black and Stone Washed versions are made of N690 steel.
Instead, the Black S600 knife is made of Böhler S600 steel. This steel is used for metal construction and stamping tools.
It has excellent properties in terms of hardness, wear resistance and toughness due to the presence of molybdenum, tungsten and a significant admixture of vanadium in its chemical composition. The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small uniformly distributed carbides which increase wear resistance.
Satre S600 is heat and cryogenically treated to achieve an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC.
As a result, it excels in amazing wear resistance and provides the blade with lasting sharpness.
The Böhler S600 contains only 4.5% chromium, which makes it oxidisable, for this reason Extrema Ratio has opted for the new EXP DARK finish. Due to its extreme hardness and resistance to wear and abrasion, this steel does not sharpen easily.
We recommend using diamond sharpeners and whetstones to keep your Satrema S600's edge extremely sharp at all times.
