Extrema Ratio Satre as a lightweight and extremely durable fixed blade knife, due to its features it can be used in a wide variety of activities and areas including survival and bushcraft, or it can be part of an EDC (Every Day Carry) kit.
It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, a master advanced military instructor.
Thanks to the Paracord 550 lanyard, it can be worn as a knife around the neck. Thus it can be held vertically with the handle pointing downwards. The pre-shaped kydex sheath has eyelets that allow the use of both the lanyard and the accessory holder.
All three versions of the Satre knife come with a black sheath. The Desert sheath can be purchased as an optional extra.
The full-tang skeleton design allows for customization of the knife by using the paracord as a handle cover.
The Satre is available in three versions with two different types of steel: Black and Stone Washed versions are made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC, this material was chosen for its resistance to oxidation, edge durability and especially for its reliability, which has proven itself over the years.
Instead, the Extrema Ratio Satre Black S600 is made from Böhler S600 steel. This steel is used for metal construction and stamping tools. It has excellent properties in terms of hardness, wear resistance and toughness due to the presence of molybdenum, tungsten and a significant admixture of vanadium in its chemical composition. The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small uniformly distributed carbides which increase wear resistance. Satre S600 is heat and cryogenically treated to achieve an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This also makes it highly wear resistant and provides the blade with lasting sharpness. Böhler S600 contains 4.5% chromium, making it oxidisable. For this reason, Extrema Ratio opted for the new EXP DARK finish. Due to its extreme hardness and resistance to wear and abrasion, this steel does not sharpen easily, and diamond sharpeners and whetstones are best recommended for sharpening such a durable material.
