The EXTREMA RATIO E.C.M. (Einsatzkommando Cobra Messer) is a fixed blade multi-purpose knife designed for operational use by the famous Austrian police special unit Einsatzkommando "Cobra". The Extrema Ratio E.C.M. combines the features of a useful tool and a reliable knife in a compact design with a total weight of 240 g. The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC, is 116 mm long, 5 mm thick. The blade profile is of a modified spearpoint type, with a false blunt edge on the spine and a bottom guard to protect the hand during use. The blade has a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating that makes it hyper-resistant to abrasion and chemical aggression. Due to the expected higher load on the knife, a thicker, highly durable G10 material was used for the handle instead of the usual Forpren. The guard is attached to the FULLTANG profile with two through bolts and retains all the familiar ergonomic features of the Extrema Ratio handles.
As this is a knife designed for professional use, great importance has been placed on ease of carry, accessibility and quick draw. The polymer sheath is customizable and can be worn on a duty belt or attached to the M.O.L.L.E. system of a tactical vest, backpack or other gear.
