This knife was custom-made for the famous 9th Airborne Regiment "Col Moschin" of the Italian Special Forces, which officially adopted it in 2002. It represents a modern reworking of the daggers issued to the Arditi - the historic unit in whose footsteps the 9th Regiment follows - which had asymmetrical blades and straight but directionally sensitive blades. They are designed to be light and practical, balanced decisively towards the hilt, with a highly perforated blade tip. Each new "Incursore" (assault paratrooper) receives one of these knives and is trained to use it to the best of his ability.
