The name of the knife Hawthorn is derived from the Hawthorn tree, which is also known as Quickthorn, Whitethorn or "Glog" in Serbian. The white handle of the knife reflects the pale colour of the tree, but its meaning goes beyond aesthetics. The distinctive stake-like shape pays homage to the disturbing history of a small Serbian village in the northern province of Vojvodina in the age of vampirism.
