"Under-The Hill" was a notoriously noisy, much-ballyhooed riverside neighborhood in Natchez, Mississippi, in the early nineteenth century, infamous for being rarely spoken of in the polite parlors of the antebellum settlements on the other side of town.
Cold Steel's Natchez Bowie was born "Under-The-Hill" and derives its pedigree from these backwater taverns and dimly lit streets.
