Product detailed description
Blackthorn series clubs are inspired by the classic Irish Shillealgh clubs. The Irish way of fighting with sticks has its origins in the 17th century when the English banned the Irish from carrying any weapons. The Bata or Shillealgh stick was often carried in public as a common accessory, as a walking stick, but could be used as a very brutal weapon in an instant. Irish boys were taught to use the Shillealgh from a young age and the training followed them throughout their childhood and into adulthood. This instrument has a beautiful wooden structure with raised spikes and a highly polished faux wood head. The Polypropylene material used is incredibly durable. The beautifully polished head, which imitates fine wood, is the dangerous striking part of the whole club.
