Product detailed description
The classic trapper's knife has been widely used as an all-purpose pocket knife since the early 20th century, and owes its name to the American Rangers who ranged across North America as hunters and trappers. They were among the most important explorers and pioneers of European settlement on the continent and were often the first to make contact with Native Americans and Eskimos. At the turn of the century, Hugo Asbach invented the German brandy in Rüdesheim on the Rhine, which is still known today as Asbach Uralt. Particularly important for the characteristic taste of this noble brandy is the complex ageing process, which takes place in small oak barrels made from Limousin oak aged for several years. Its wood has particularly large pores and is permeable to air, so that the fine spirit can breathe and age in exchange with air.
The noble handles of Böker Trapper Asbach Uralt are made from the unique oak wood of the time-honoured Asbach casks, which can now take on a new task after decades of storage. Like the small barrels, the handle of the Slipjoint pocket knife also bears the famous distillery's brand. The noble collector's version features a stainless damascus blade by Chad Nichols that is hand-forged in the Ripple pattern.
The distinctive nickel silver handle feet contrast nicely with the story wood. The slim design makes the Trapper an ideal everyday companion. Handmade in the Böker manufactory in Solingen and strictly limited to 299 pieces worldwide. With high-quality felt storage case, certificate of authenticity and individual serial number.

Böker - the history of the factory dates back to the 17th century, the original forge was then located in Remscheid. In 1829-30, production was extended to sabres and swords. At that time, the factory employed over 100 blacksmiths and sharpeners. In the second half of the 19th century, part of the family moved to the USA and Canada, where they established further production facilities. The last of the Bocker siblings, Heinrich, moved to Solingen where most of today's production comes from. Boker manufactures knives according to its own designs and those of well-known knifemakers.
The company now manufactures its products in Germany, the USA and Argentina and uses the marketing brand MAGNUM. Böker develops new types and designs itself and employs several designers. The knives are manufactured on CNC (computer controlled machine tools) with the highest quality.
