Product detailed description
ASTOR is the first closing knife on which Spartan collaborated with prolific custom cutter Les George. The ASTOR was designed to be a rugged "workhorse"!
Featuring carbon fiber and G10 composite blades, a strong liner-lock lock, and a highly ground premium CTS-XHP blade steel, the ASTOR is the perfect knife for jobs that require more durability.
The deep carry pocket clip can be adjusted for left-handed carry by switching to the left side and using the double thumb stud. All this at an affordable price!
All Spartan Blades Bronze (Field) Grade components include their "Oil-Infused Bronze Bushing System" or "OIBBS"! This system, particularly useful in intermittent use and uneven loading, as is often the case with closing knives.

Spartan Blades is not just about knives - it's a celebration of pride, precision and dedication to the craft. Each knife is created with a vision that combines military precision with the art of traditional knifemaking. Founded in 2008 by veterans Curtis Ivito and Mark Carey, the brand grows from more than four decades of experience the two founders gained as NCOs in the U.S. Special Forces. The goal was to create tools that would serve not only in the rigors of the military environment, but also in civilian life - tools that don't fail when they matter.
The first chapters of the Spartan Blades story were written in a historic mule barn built before the American Civil War in Aberdeen, North Carolina. The modest equipment and limited resources of the time contrasted with the boundless passion and precision Curtis and Mark devoted to every detail. Each blade prototype was designed for maximum durability, ergonomics and functionality - without compromise. This obsession with quality quickly gained recognition not only among military professionals, but also among collectors and outdoor enthusiasts.
Spartan Blades brings a symbiosis of traditional cutlery and modern technology to its products. Each knife is made from premium materials such as CPM S35VN steel or CPM MagnaCut, which offer excellent resistance to wear and corrosion. The ergonomic handle made of micarta or G10 materials ensures a firm and secure grip even in extreme conditions. The development of the designs is inspired by the needs of modern operators as well as historical combat tools, ensuring that each piece combines functionality with aesthetic value.
Spartan Blades isn't just a knife maker - it's a movement. The founders' values of patriotism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence are deeply rooted in all aspects of their work. It's not just about making tools - each knife embodies a story, a piece of history and the spirit of those who created it. The Spartan Blades team believes that a quality knife is not just a tool, but also a symbol of what it means to be prepared, proud of your identity and determined to overcome the challenges of everyday life.
Today, Spartan Blades acts as a beacon of quality for all who demand the perfect tool - from the professional in the field to those looking for a piece of history in everyday life. From its early beginnings in a small workshop to international recognition, the brand is proof that honest work and a belief in quality are the path to success.
