This model from Rockstead has a titanium handle with a DLC finish. It comes in two different finishes, a gloss finish (S) and a matte finish (M). The YXR7 blade with DLC can cut a manila rope about 350 times and still slice a sheet of paper cleanly. This knife has a blade angle of 30 degrees to the middle of the blade length and 24 degrees from the middle to the tip. This reduction in angle provides excellent sharpness.
"HIGO" in Japanese means "the former name of the "kyushu" district in Japan.

Japanese ROCKSTEAD knives are the absolute world leader in this field and are at the top of the current steel production possibilities.
ROCKSTEAD knives also have unique blade shapes, taken from samurai swords. Usually convex ground, or even a combination of convex and flat ground. ROCKSTEAD blades thus use the traditions of samurai sword making to create the perfect knife.
