Product detailed description
Guardian Tactical really pulled it off with the Scout. This out-the-front (OTF) automatic knife pushes the boundaries of everyday carry with its sophisticated design and superior craftsmanship. The knife body builds on the proven ergonomic shapes of previous models, but adds improved control and smoothness of movement.
A key feature of the mechanism is a patented feed system that combines a polished steel guide plate, precision ball bearings and an intuitive thumb slider. This ensures smooth and reliable blade extension and retraction, while resistance to movement remains minimal even after prolonged use.
The blade made from Elmax powder coated steel provides an excellent combination of hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Its satin finish looks elegant while promoting easy cleaning.
The handle has a distinctive jimping that increases grip stability in different positions. This texture, together with the precise balance of the entire knife body, contributes significantly to maneuverability in fine work and dynamic use.
At the end of the handle there is a three-ball tip for emergency glass breaking, which not only looks technically interesting, but thanks to its construction distributes the energy of the blow more efficiently than conventional single-sided tips. The carrying clip is adapted for deep insertion into a pocket and shaped so as not to restrict access to the knife's controls in any way.
The length of the closed knife is around 12 cm, the total length when open is approximately 21 cm. The weight of just under 100 grams allows comfortable daily carrying without feeling weighed down. The Scout is not just a knife, but a demonstration of thoughtful engineering wrapped in a tactical design.

The founding of Guardian Tactical in 2012 was the result of a collaboration between two exceptional professionals - Chief Blade Designer Andy Buerk and CNC Specialist Brian Mercer, both formerly of Microtech Knives. They shared a vision to create a new level in the production of high quality tactical tools focused on self-defense, functional use and enhanced safety.
Each product is created exclusively in the United States in their own state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with the latest CNC technology with precision in the micrometer range. Professionally trained machinists and assembly technicians utilize precise measurement and tolerance verification methods developed by Guardian Tactical as part of its in-house quality control and project completion system. This approach ensures repeatability and reliability of the final product even under extremely demanding application conditions.
The use of multi-axis CNC machining centers, laser cutting and surface finishing processes enables the achievement of form and function perfection on every component. For example, the mechanical tolerance of the moving parts of the knives is below ±0.005 mm, which significantly reduces wear and increases the service life of the mechanism.
One of the highlights of Guardian Tactical's innovation is the production of the unique MRX chain-driven knife, distributed under the Ratworx brand. This model won the People's Choice Award at the prestigious BLADE Show in 2014 and continues to this day to lead the way in combining ergonomics, technical precision and reliable deployment in real-world situations.
The company's philosophy that a quality product is not only based on the materials used, but above all on thoughtful design, precise workmanship and an honest approach at every stage of development. The integrity of the production process is not an empty concept, but an integral part of the brand identity.
