Product detailed description
The German SAR service Seenotretter is responsible for maritime search and rescue in the German North Sea and Baltic Sea areas - 24/7 in all weather conditions. Its mission is to "go when others are looking for shelter". In close cooperation with these professionals, the Boker Plus Seenotretter 01 knife was developed to meet the high demands of the high seas. As a classic knife, it is designed for professional and private users on sea and inland waters or people who work a lot with ropes. It is made exclusively of stainless steel. The 1.4116 main blade is partially serrated for cutting braided ropes and harnesses. Also included is a marlinspike (for untying reinforced knots) and a bottle opener. Both blades are held in place by a sturdy, dirt-resistant slip joint. Solid dome-head pins are used instead of screws to ensure durability and reliability. The Hanseatic Cross, the familiar emblem of the DGzRS, is stamped on the front of the handle. Carrying is facilitated by a deep carry clip. A generously sized lanyard loop protects against loss. For every knife sold, Boker donates €5 to the SAR organization German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS).

Böker - the history of the factory dates back to the 17th century, the original forge was then located in Remscheid. In 1829-30, production was extended to sabres and swords. At that time, the factory employed over 100 blacksmiths and sharpeners. In the second half of the 19th century, part of the family moved to the USA and Canada, where they established further production facilities. The last of the Bocker siblings, Heinrich, moved to Solingen where most of today's production comes from. Boker manufactures knives according to its own designs and those of well-known knifemakers.
The company now manufactures its products in Germany, the USA and Argentina and uses the marketing brand MAGNUM. Böker develops new types and designs itself and employs several designers. The knives are manufactured on CNC (computer controlled machine tools) with the highest quality.
