Product detailed description

The Bestechman Dundee M-Cut is a modern pocket knife that combines innovative design with high functionality. With an overall length of 117.6 mm when closed and a blade length of 89 mm, it is a compact tool suitable for everyday carry. The blade made of M-Cut steel stands out for its exceptional hardness and wear resistance, ensuring a long service life even under heavy use.
The G10 handle provides a firm yet lightweight grip that remains stable even in wet or challenging conditions. The G10 surface is textured, which enhances ergonomics and prevents slipping of the hand. The liner lock mechanism ensures the blade is securely locked in the open position, contributing to safe use.

The knife is equipped with a pocket clip that allows for convenient and discreet carry on the edge of the pocket. The clip is adapted for both right and left-handed users, increasing the versatility of the knife.

Ultem, an advanced thermoplastic material, is becoming increasingly popular in the knife handle industry due to its exceptional properties and technical parameters. Its unique honey-amber colour, which almost glows in direct light, adds a distinctive aesthetic element to knives. But this material is not just about looks - its technical properties exceed many other commonly used materials such as FRN (Fiber Reinforced Nylon).

Ultem offers an unprecedented combination of strength, stiffness, light weight and wear resistance. When gripped hard, the material does not lose shape or flex, a key feature for users who rely on their equipment in demanding conditions. In addition, its resistance to UV rays and temperature fluctuations ensures that the handle remains stable and functional even after years of heavy use. The texture of Ultem, unlike some other materials, remains intact even when the knife is carried in a pocket for long periods of time or when repeatedly exposed to mechanical stress in the area of the blade.

The history of Ultem is as fascinating as its properties. It was originally designed for use in aircraft interiors where a combination of lightness, strength, flame retardancy and chemical resistance was required. Moreover, Ultem did not ignite even when exposed to extreme heat and did not release toxic gases, which made it suitable for other industries. Today, it finds applications such as medicine, food and 3D printing. Its resistance to corrosive environments and ease of sterilization make it popular for the production of tools and parts that must meet strict hygiene standards. In addition, the ability to be accurately and quickly shaped using 3D printing significantly reduces manufacturing costs compared to traditionally machined metal parts.

Although Ultem excels in most important parameters, there are also some limitations that may be a disadvantage for some users. The colour range is severely limited - it ranges exclusively in shades between honey and amber, making it less flexible for aesthetic experimentation. Its non-porous surface does not allow for staining or patina creation, as we know, for example, with Micarta. For those who value materials that acquire a unique character over time, Ultem may be a less attractive choice. In addition, this high-tech material is more expensive, which should be taken into account when making a choice.
Despite these minor drawbacks, Ultem represents one of the most advanced knife handle materials on the market today.
